We Hear You

By Jessie Korosec, ETI Marketing Manager

ToolTech is, in part, a product of the feedback we receive from the event attendees.  We use this feedback as we begin to plan next year’s ToolTech so we can make improvements to ensure that the event is productive and informative for all of the attendees.  All in all, a lot of hard work on the part of the Program Committee goes into planning ToolTech to make it a successful event.

All of your comments were much appreciated and we send our congratulations out to Kathy Kedzior of MAHLE Powertrain LLC as our randomly selected winner of the $50 gift card for filling out the critique survey.

The results of the survey are as follows:

Some of the topics that you would like to see covered at ToolTech included:

  • I would like more European OEM involvement
  • OEM Panel
  • Right to repair and other industry hot buttons
  • Telematics - update on status and progress particularly about access to the installed OE systems
  • The shop owner panel should be a "regular" topic
  • Financial outlook should be a regular discussion
  • A technical presentation on J2534 offering a detailed understanding of how the standard works and why tool manufacturers and OEMs seem to serve different masters at times
  • Emerging technologies that become evident from ETI activities throughout the year
  • Specific updates from any key industry groups (EPA, SAE, CA BAR, NATEF, ASE, etc.)

Things that you specifically liked about ToolTech 2013 included:

  • I appreciate the consistent one-on-one opportunities that ETI provides with the OEMs at all their venues
  • The caliber of speakers was great
  • I really enjoyed the Discussion Groups
  • It very good to see more collaboration with the other industry organizations this year
  • Top notch content and coverage
  • The closing dinner was superb
  • The location fantastic
  • Good event.  Well organized. Good location. Great learning experience

A few areas where you thought we could improve the event included:

  • There were a few panels which ran over or had to end prematurely
  • Very few attendees stop by the Showcase booths
  • Disappointed in the few OEs that attend
  • With a little more time allowed the discussion groups would have been perfect.
  • Company showcase was a bit light and short in duration, but understand the focus was speakers and information
  • More time for panel/speaker Q&A next time please
