Aaron Lowe - Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Government Affairs Aaron Lowe is senior vice president, regulatory & government affairs for the Auto Care Association. Lowe has been with the Auto Care Association and previously with the Automotive Parts and Accessories Association (APAA) for nearly 40 years. He currently oversees the Auto Care Association’s federal and state legislative and regulatory efforts, focusing on a wide range of environmental, vehicle safety, workplace-health and safety and international trade issues. He also served as liaison to the Upholstery and Trim International Segment of the Auto Care Association. Prior to the Auto Care Association, Lowe worked for an energy consulting firm specializing in renewable fuels legislation and regulation. Lowe has a bachelor’s of art degree in economics from George Washington University and currently resides with his wife in Silver Spring, Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C. |
Scott VanHulle - Manager, RTS and OEM Technical Relations Manager, RTS and OEM Technical Relations at its I-CAR Tech Center in Appleton, WI. VanHulle is part of I-CAR’s Repairability Technical Support (RTS) Initiative and leads the organization’s technical relationships with vehicle manufactures. VanHulle and his team has designed, built, and update the I-CAR RTS Portal; a website designed to communicate collision repair information that contributes to complete, safe, and quality repairs. VanHulle has an Associate Degree in Collision Repair and Refinish Technology from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. After completing his degree, he became a Collision Repair and Refinish Technician, an Estimator, and Collision Repair Facility Manager. VanHulle started with I-CAR in 2010 as an Instructional Designer. VanHulle is an I-CAR Platinum Individual and ASE Certified Master Collision Repair Technician. VanHulle often speaks on vehicle technology and collision repair trends with vehicle makers and at local, and national collision repair conferences. |
Dirk Fuchs - I-CAR | Director |Technical Programs and Services With nearly 20 years of automotive experience, Dirk is recognized industry subject-matter-expert in EV and ADAS technology. As Director of Technical Programs & Services at I-CAR (Inter-industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair,) Dirk has been a featured speaker and panelist at automotive industry events, and has been active in supporting automotive-related associations surrounding national and state legislative activities. His passion for the automotive industry began in 2002 as a Technical Training specialist/instructor for Volkswagen Germany. Recruited by ZF Services, Germany, a global technology and supplies system provider offering comprehensive automated driving and electric mobility solutions for manufacturers and newly emerging transport and mobility service providers, Dirk’s responsibilities over the next 13 years included international technical service and sales training management. |
Jon D. Ruttencutter - 3 Points Consulting Mr. Ruttencutter established 3 Points Consulting in February 2019 to facilitate the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of information, training, analytical tools and communications for the benefit of industry professionals with an emphasis on Intellectual Property (IP) Protection by way of Communication, Collaboration, and Commitment. Prior to the start of 3 Points Consulting, Mr. Ruttencutter worked for 30 plus years in Law Enforcement and retired from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) National Intellectual Property Rights Center, Washington, DC. As a federal criminal investigator, Mr. Ruttencutter was permanently assigned to represent HSI in a joint venture with the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance to pursue international cyber criminals. During his daily duties he provided national and international oversight for major cyber fraud investigative priorities and functioned as field liaison to the law enforcement field offices and industry brand protection and security teams. Throughout his career, Mr. Ruttencutter has been responsible for a myriad of investigations relating to financial, strategic, fraud, as it relates to data and brand protection. |
Kristen Thompson - Goodyear Kristen Thompson is a Data Engineer at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber company. For the past four years, she worked on the development of connected solutions to transform the future of mobility on the intelligent tire team, otherwise known as Sightline. As a data enthusiast, she is passionate about fostering education in this area and works part-time as an instructional specialist for the Data Analytics & Visualization bootcamp at Case Western University. Kristen earned her Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering, and MBA all from Youngstown State University. |
Luis Morales - SEMA Director of Vehicle Technology Luis earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, in 2016. Soon after, Luis started working for SEMA, within the SEMA Garage Product Development department, where he worked with hundreds of Aftermarket Manufacturers by providing engineering-related services, such as: OEM CAD data, 3D Printing, 3D Scanning, Reverse Engineering, and research on the effects of aftermarket products on vehicle ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Today, Luis is SEMA’s Director of Vehicle Technology, overseeing the management of new vehicle technology programs and related component business development and technical support. Development of services and facilities, to assist automotive aftermarket companies with new product development and component integration related to new vehicle technology, bridging the connection between the automotive aftermarket industry and the OEM’s new vehicle technology. |
D.T. "Rusty" Russell - Director of Operations (NICB) D.T. “Rusty” Russell is the Director of Operations-Vehicles with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB). In his role Mr. Russell coordinates all vehicle, marine, and specialized equipment investigative programs of the NICB. He has been with NICB since 2009 and previously served as an NICB Special Agent in Western North Carolina. Prior to joining NICB, Rusty Russell spent twenty-three years as sworn law enforcement with the Saint Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. Mr. Russell spent the last fourteen years of his law enforcement career as a detective assigned to the auto theft division where he was responsible for all commercial, construction, and marine theft investigations. Mr. Russell’s investigative experience includes both person and property crimes with specializations in auto theft, heavy equipment theft, commercial motor vehicle theft, cargo theft, as well as arson investigations, environmental crimes, and agricultural crimes. |
