    The Inspection and Maintenance Review Committee is meeting in southern California in March.  I think this one could be rather interesting.  I think this one is one that I might try to attend.  Is anyone else thinking of attending?

    First for those of you that need some back ground, look here.

    If you would like to see the BAR 2012 document, look here.

    Here's a quote from Rocky Carlisle, the chief staff person there:

    Due to scheduling conflicts with presenters for the February meeting of the Inspection and Maintenance Review Committee, we have cancelled the meeting. Instead, the next meeting will on March 30, 2010 in Southern CA at a location to be determined. In addition, this meeting will be scheduled from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Although 4:00 PM may be a little early for some technicians and shop owners, the majority of the presentations will not take place until about 5:30 PM. We have several presentations for that evening which are as follows:

    Preliminary estimates of smoke test failures and a discussion of the reasons for the low failure rates;

    Discussion of the issue paper on converting the Bureau of Automotive Repair to a Board;

    An analysis of Smog Check data in the Fresno area by Emily Wimberger (an IMRC consultant);

    A presentation by MAHA on the use of roadside equipment used to measure particulate matter; and,

    A presentation by Bud Rice on the Smog Check program from the Automotive Industry's perceptive.

    In addition, here is a copy of a document from the California Environmental Dialogue supporting IMRC recommendations to improve the Smog Check program.
